Steve Davis – Marketing – Principal
Steve entered the life insurance business in 1985 with Mutual of Omaha as a soliciting agent in Austin, Texas. In 1987, he moved to Dallas and worked for Diversified Benefits/ Nationwide Life Insurance Co. in the payroll deduction and defined contribution pension markets. Since 1989, Steve has been at Insurance Designers, helping agents and advisors in the brokerage/BGA business. He has experience and knowledge in multiple areas, including life advanced markets, disability income, long-term care, and annuities. He is a principal at Insurance Designers of Dallas, and served on the Board of Directors of IDA, one of the nation’s largest IMO’s. A 1983 graduate of Texas State University with a BBA, Steve is a long- time resident of East Dallas/Lakewood area.
John Davis Jr, CLU – Marketing – Principal
John Jr. is a proud graduate of The University of Houston and has been a marketing consultant with Insurance Designers since 1992. Over the last three decades, John has worked with thousands of producers across the country, helping in pre-sale case design and assisting at the point-of-sale. With extensive knowledge of life, disability and long-term care products, medical underwriting, and innovative advanced planning concepts, John provides the producer with a significant value proposition. John holds the Chartered Life Underwriter designation from The American College and is a member of The American College Alumni Association. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of NAIFA and SFSP, while he continues to be a general member today. In addition, John is a long-time member of AALU and NAILBA. When he’s not working, John loves to spend time with his wife, three children, and beloved dog, Coco.
Patti Bennett, CLU – Quotes/Illustrations, Product Specialist
Patti has been with Insurance Designers since the beginning, when she helped John Davis Sr. start the company in 1986. A cum laude graduate of Louisiana Tech University, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, specializing in insurance. She received her CLU designation in 1996. Patti has assisted thousands of agents in determining the best carriers and products for their clients. With her vast knowledge of the various products we offer, she is skilled in client solutions, policy illustrations, policy review, and point of sale client presentations. Patti and her husband enjoy traveling around the country in their RV.
Cindy Carrell – New Business Case Manager, In-Force & Policy Service
Cindy joined Insurance Designers of Dallas in 1994. Though Cindy’s primary support role is case management for life insurance, she also manages new business for disability, Medicare supplement, and both short term and permanent medical insurance applications. Cindy works diligently to be sure each case is handled efficiently and professionally and maintains an attitude that each case is important to the overall success of Insurance Designers of Dallas.
Britney Murphy – New Business Case Manager, In-Force & Policy Service
Britney joined Insurance Designers of Dallas in January 2009 as our receptionist. Britney started working as a part-time Case Manager in April 2014 while maintaining her receptionist position, and moved to Case Management full-time in July 2017. Since then she has handled New Business and provided support for inforce & policy service requests. Britney is available to help agents with online applications as well as information needed regarding pending cases. Britney strives to provide top of the line customer service and support to all of our agents in a timely manner. Britney completed the NAILBA University BGA Employee Training series in January 2019. She is currently enrolled in NAILBA’s Case Manager Certification program to further her knowledge and obtain a CCM designation. In Britney’s free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 children.
Lori Patek – New Business Case Manager, In-Force & Policy Service
Lori joined Insurance Designers of Dallas in July 2014. She is an experienced insurance professional in case management, underwriting and customer service. Her expertise is guiding agents through the application and underwriting process. She diligently interacts with insurance carrier personnel including underwriters and medical directors to ensure the best offer is obtained for each case.
Meagan Davis – Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
Meagan joined Insurance Designers of Dallas in July 2023. Meagan is the daughter of John Davis, Jr. She looks forward to working in the family business her Grandfather started in 1986. Meagan graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. Meagan will greet our agents with a welcoming smile and assist in getting them to the correct contact. She will be assisting with office administration and other various office tasks.
